About Nancy Kerns

Nancy's first project was a king-sized Dresden
plate quilt created in 1977. In 1986 she graduated from the NQA Certified Quilt
Teacher’s program. Nancy regularly teaches classes at a local quilt shop and
workshops for guilds. She was a Guest Artist in Residence at the Elly
Sienkiewicz Applique Academy in 2005 and also taught a class, "A Rose For
You", that was her original design.
Drawn to the old Baltimore Albums most strongly; yet loving
the shading and realism
possible with today’s gorgeous batik fabrics, Nancy can see herself working in
both areas for a long time to come. Nancy has had several quilts accepted at
major juried competitions, a cover quilt on Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine,
#187, and numerous awards. Her "Tribute to Baltimore" has been
included in two special Baltimore Album exhibits at Houston and Chicago. Nancy
has been a sample stitcher for pattern designer Maggie Walker for four years
and as such, has her name on several of Ms. Walker’s patterns. You may email
